A naturally delicious and healthy basmati rice. Our bags come in 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 kilos. 1 kg is enough for around 13 meals for one person.

Our values

At our production facilities we always make sure our co-workers have a safe, fair and equal working environment. Our goal is that our values are respected at every step of production. The farmers we work with are of course paid fairly too.

Fairness

The farmers we buy the rice from are of course paid fairly, and we guarantee that no child labour occurs in the factory. To us this goes without saying, but we still feel we need to tell our customers so there is no uncertainty about it.

Environment

We try to minimise harmful effects on the environment by checking soil, plant protection products and cultivation, and by making sure the factory handles everything correctly. Environmental work is an ongoing process and we always try to get better.

Quality

Our goal has always been to produce the best rice on the market without compromising our values. We have combined modern technology with traditional know-how and care.

Properties of the rice

Karoon rice has a light, fluffy texture with a slightly nutty flavour. It works just as well as part of a main course as it does in a salad or a dessert.

About Karoon

Farms

We have experienced co-workers who buy rice directly from local farmers. The rice grains are then rinsed several times before processing begins, which matters for both quality and flavour. Because we are involved in the whole process, from the fields to the finished product, we also have insight into the use of fertilisers and plant protection products. This keeps pesticide residues very low. The rice is tested regularly in both Sweden and Germany to make sure of it. We want everyone to feel safe eating Karoon.

Facilities

In recent years the entire facility has been updated and everything is now done digitally, which makes the whole production easier. Sensors monitor temperature and humidity so they are always at the right levels during drying and storage. This careful control lets the rice keep its aroma and flavour, and means Karoon has no broken grains. The digital equipment used in our facility comes from Satake, a company whose machinery is world-leading in rice production.
